The Beach

All of this is stranger  
than it was before
now instead of one
entertainer  
every night at six
there are a ton of little ones
working from the sticks.

I've no idea
what's happening
much as it was before
but it does seem certain
there's more changing up
than I have ever known.

It's like I talked to Daddy
asked for a pile of dirt
refill please my sandbox
and he said okay squirt.

Backed the truck up
poured it in
starting over fine
got my toy soldiers
out of there

no avalanche this time.

But I may have
a new mission
for many of my guys

Build a beach
then get the hose
eliminate the lies.

I have this deal about "isms"
don't like them very much
even romanticism
that one cost a lot.   

Just being a kid again
4 am and then
everyone has gone to bed
except the ones
are sent.

Mr. Sandman and some friends
family as well
all of them forever
sounding off build bells.
